Dear

Please help, i try install and create database with oracle 18c in Red Hat 7.5.
I have problem, why datafile naming used random character for example o1_mf_system_fx2s9p5f_.dbf?
where configuration for naming datafile without random character?

Did you use DBCA to create your database? You obviously elected to use Oracle Managed Files while creating your database. You must specify "file system" and select which directory you want to use.

Don't worry about it! I always use Oracle Managed Files, unless there is some show-stopping reason not to. OMF makes your life immeasurably easier.

As gazzag said, you obviously told dbca to use 'oracle managed files' when you created the database. That means, among other things, that Oracle names the files the way he wants. If you want to manage the files yourself, including naming them to your own standards, then don't use Oracle Managed Files (aka "OMF").

If you do want the benefits of OMF, then you have to let oracle name the files to his standards, not yours.

Thanks for the clue, your are right, i selected OMF, I shoudnt select OMF.
