dear sir,
i have same application installed on different locations. now i want to back up the export file of the specific record...it is possible to export the specific record of the database..

yes

you can do that if your using oracle 8i. with QUERY parameter in export utility this is new parameter i oracle 8i

say if you have EMP table then if you wann to export of only those records whose salary is greater 3000

then in export parameter along with other parameter

u can specify like this

query='where sal>3000' but please check out your O/S

this example will work on NT/2000
