hi i want to import   a full database mode from oracle 8i to oracle 9.2 what are the prerequites i have to do

eg the  existing name of the db is test  i created

new database called     live. if i imported full databse to live db

wheter it will change the db name (live to test) or whehter it will remain as live.Wht are the prerequests i have to accomplish.Wheter i have to create large undo tablespace and

same tablespaces as in the test databases only

plss waiting urs advice

Hi,

No, importing data will not change your database's name.

Also, you don't need a large undo tablespace if you set COMMIT=Y.
