Hi,
We need to load some external URNs into a table using sql*loader, but we need to translate those values to other ones using a lookup table we have within the DB.
Is it possible to somehow join the external data to this lookup table and insert into the final table the translated values?

what is URN?
You can make use of what we call external tables.
External tables allow you to consider an external flat file (text file) as an oracle table.
Please rephrase the question with oracle versions and OS versions.

Sorry about being unclear.

By a URN (Unique Reference Number) i just mean a unique id.
We are using oracle 9.2.

Do what Mahesh said: look into Externally Organized Tables. Search this forum for heaps of advice.
