In my database records are continously inserted/loaded by
using C / ProC programs...In a day around 6 millions records
are inserted.
Should i keep the archive log on such that it doesn't effect
my performance.

Any association between archived log and peformances is irrelevant (unless you put your archived logs on overloaded disk or on network).
Archived logs are for availability. Either you need it and use it, or you don't and switch to no archived log mode.
You can remove them as soon as you no more need them for recovery but this will change anything on performances.

Michel

When archive log is on, does redo log generated when
1. data is loaded using sql loader direct path
2. when using bulk collect / forall for insert/update

If you make any DML/DDL changes archive log is going to be generated. There is very very less impact on db if you make your db in no archive log mode, but for availability/recovery purpose you should require archive logs.

Oracle recommends db should be in archive log mode.

There is no difference when db is in archivelog or noarchivelog mode.
The redo logs generated are the same.

Redo logs are always generated, more or less.
lesser in 1. than in 2.
