Dear all,

I can connect as SYSTEM...but i don't have SYSDBA privilege.... but i need this privilege to generate statspack report and to check v$sysstat settings....

can we grant this SYSDBA privilege to SYSTEM...?

or is there any other alternate to check v$sysstat values and to generate the statspack at database level ?

pls clarify me...

thank you all.
kesavan.

1/ You don't need sysdba to generate a statspack report. SYSDBA is only for database maintenance purpose (startup, shutdown...)
2/ Yes you can give sysdba to system but you should not use system (create your own dba account) and you should not give sysdba to system
3/ you can directly query on v$sysstat, you don't need to use statspack but statspack is really useful and ready.

Michel
