Can we add search field in Reports so that at run time user can search with in the report data.
How iS it Possible?

Hi,
I might be out here in the darkness...but if it is a web generated report there is always a search method in the browser I guess.
But I have a feeling you need something else.

YEs web generated have search option..
But am not talking about web report ...
My question is about run time report...

where your Reports get Dispalyed wether in Previwer,a PDF or a Web Paper Format.?

Which Version you are Using and What is the Format of the Report Document?

Report displayed both in previwer and pdf.

Am using Reports 6i.

Report take input of Transaction_date on basics of that out-put is as follows.
---------------------------------------------------------------
sr.no symbol open-rate high-rate low-rate price-change turnover
---------------------------------------------------------------

Now i want search field in previwer so that if report has 5 or 6 pages then i can search with in the data extracted by report ....

Sorry for misunderstandning, I might do that again... There is a search in PDF viewer as well. I am not understandning what you really want here. Sorry.

Hi,
OK, I get it, sorry.

I think that is what the parameter form is meant to support, to extract the data you really want to have.

I have never seen a search field in a report that is ready and already shown. But it might be able to do that, I do not know how.

Yes...
I also did`nt see this in any report...

But,i think this is the functionality that will make end user work more easy these days am also trying to dig it out how to do this ...(I think it is`nt impossible)
if u been able to do this let me know..

Hi,
For what it is worth, I have worked with Oracle Reports since ReportWriter 1.1 and never heard this demand from a user. Maybe there is a way to teach users how to find data in a more efficient way, and use search tools in stead of a report tool.
